layer on

Did you see my post on the Glitter Guide today on how to layer multiple necklaces? I was so thrilled to put it together because layering necklaces up is something of a life passion of mine. And I take it very seriously. Like art form seriously. uh huh. You’ve seen these all before but here’s a recap of my favorite layered looks from this blog.

I hope the GG post inspires you to layer your necklaces up to create a cool and unique look! Please tweet for facebook me images so I can see your look! ♥♥

working girl

H&M dress (similar here), Sanctuary vest, BR Karlie briefcase bag, Frye boots, Chan Luu & c/o Baublebar bracelets, Topshop earrings

Give me a briefcase-esque bag and a tie front shirt dress and suddenly I feel all professional. Of course, I must funk it up with some faux fur, because that’s just who I am.

“You can bend the rules plenty once you get to the top, but not while you’re trying to get there. And if you’re someone like me, you can’t get there without bending the rules.” -Tess McGill, Working Girl 1988

we’ll always have paris

Anthropologie blazer, Opening Ceremony tee, Madewell jeans, Vince Camuto heels, America Apparel purple clutch, vintage and c/o Sears necklaces, Topshop earrings

“But what about us?” “We’ll always have Paris….” -Casablanca (daily dose of Bogart and Bergman here, you must watch, for me)

organic gemstones

Lately I have been more than a little obsessed with all kinds of organic looking gemstones – agate, quartz, chrysophase, you name it. I am drawn to their gorgeous colors and their natural and beautiful imperfect-ness. I am even convinced of their metaphysical healing powers. It’s the Stevie Nicks in me I guess. I am thinking of hitting up the bead store this weekend and create something resembling the Chan Luu multi pendant necklace and I have to have one of these rings. Gorgeous, yes?

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony sweatshirt, BR skirt, Frye heels, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch, c/o Baublebar cuff, NARS ‘Funny Face’ lipstick

I don’t know what happened this morning, but when I was putting this outfit together things took a serious turn into schoolgirl land, and I went for it. I like to call it an ode to. Complete with my comfiest not-quite-couture sweatshirt I got at Opening Ceremony in New York and my brightest of pink lipsticks because I am so over winterfied Burgundy lips. Bring on the Spring I say.

black // white

H&M lace top, Target skirt (also seen here), 7 For All Mankind jacket, Gap belt, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch, Chan Luu bracelet, vintage necklace & earrings, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses

and the best accessory globe goes to…

Bejeweled headbands had a major moment last night at the Golden Globes on these two lovely ladies. I’m officially on board. Best accessory indeed!

(Michelle and Charlize happened to be two of the best dressed overall as well. I also loved Elle Macpherson, Claire Danes and Emily Blunt)

sass in boots

BR Sweater dress, J. Crew belt, Elizabeth & James boots, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch, Alexis Bittar pink bracelet & Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

This is one of those outfits I threw on it a rush out the door in the morning. All black and a simple sophisticated dress is my go-to for mornings like these, and this time I decided to throw in a little P.O.C. (that’s pop of color for those not in the know) neon pink and my new to me (consignment steal!) Elizabeth & James serious made-for-walkin’ boots. This simple look ended up being a total hit at the office, with ‘Sass’ becoming my nickname for the day. I think it was the boots…

Happy Weekend!

shearling darling

Aritzia sweater, Trouve skirt, Sanctuary vest, Frye boots, House of Harlow sunglasses, Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch

This faux shearling vest has quickly become a go-to for me lately as it is soooo cozy and warm, I literally have been throwing it over EVERYTHING. And since it has been so nice here lately, I can wear it pretty much as outerwear for a midday coffee run. perfect.

wild at heart

I am so obsessed with Isabel Lucas’ cover spread in December’s Australian Vogue photographed in the Kalahari desert.  It’s pretty much my idea of Resort fashion spread heaven. I have a soft spot in my heart for the African landscape plus that eclectic tribal chic wardrobe is so right up my alley. It all makes me want to take to the desert for a long escape from winter vacay immediately. Can someone please get me some bronzer, a load of hair bleach and dark eyebrow pencil? Isabel, you’re killing this look. Swoon.
