before sundown

I had one of those glorious weekends that felt like the perfect combination of  relaxation, getting things done and fun with friends. On Saturday evening I attended an intimate rooftop cocktail and dinner party in honor of a friends birthday (it’s practically summer here in SF) in this outfit. It felt like the perfect combination of relaxed and glamorous, which is exactly the way I wanted to look and feel on an evening that ended with everyone lounging in the living room carpet with bottles of wine. Plus, you know how I feel about bright pink ♥

Hope you all had similarly lovely weekends! Viva la Indian Winter.

ocean sunset

I awoke on Saturday morning to the sun streaming in my windows and with a sudden urge to visit the ocean.  Cue afternoon trip to the outer sunset with best friend to visit some of these places and watch the sun set over the Pacific. It was one of those days that made me fall in love with SF all over again.

Yes, I promise, the sunset was this amazing, oscillating between purples and pinks and rich oranges and red as you looked from left to right across the horizon. Incredible. And aren’t the succulents in the backyard of  General Store adorable? I love me some succulents.

I’m finding all kinds of new ways to wear my favorite Summer maxi skirts (this one I wore in NYC with a tank in 90 degree heat- seen here) as we head into winter. Can you believe how dark it is getting so early? When taking these pictures my photographer and I literally experienced the sun setting on us in a span of 20 minutes in what seemed like the afternoon. Winter, she comes…even in California.

daydreaming in san francisco

At least every couple of months I like to take a lazy Sunday when I have no other plans, grab a friend and just walk around San Francisco a bit in a state of daydream, taking pictures of things that inspire me. It reminds me of how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful city (and why my rent is so high) with so many cool and interesting neighborhoods, shops and restaurants.  Being appreciative is always a good thing, as is getting inspired by the beauty around you. And I know this DVN quote has been making its rounds in the blog world, but I just couldn’t resist incorporating it in this post because I love it and its message so much. The world would be such a more boring place without a little imagination, right?

outside lands!

This is weekend I had the ultimate pleasure of spending 3 beautiful sun shiny and clear skyed days in Golden Gate Park listening to some great live music and hanging out with good friends at the Outside Lands music festival here in SF. I swear, there’s nothing better on a summer weekend. Some of acts we saw: Ellie Goulding, Bob Schneider, OK Go, Muse, Black Keys, Sia, Erykah Badu, Josh Ritter, Major Lazer, Little Dragon, Beirut (pictured above, 2nd from bottom), and of course, my favorite, Arcade Fire (last picture above).

Now I’m busy spending the week catching up on sleep and doing my life errands- grocery shopping, laundry- all the while wishing I was back laying barefoot on a blanket on the grass at the park with friends, listening to some guitar strings and drum solos…
